Rooted in Established Lineage

This Chakra Yoga Teacher Training Immersion is offered through Sacred Centers Academy, a respected educational institution dedicated to conscious studies, yoga philosophy, and integrative teaching.

The training is grounded in the chakra system as articulated by Anodea Judith, whose work has shaped modern understanding of the chakras through her seminal books Eastern Body, Western Mind and Wheels of Life.

These teachings provide a psychologically informed, energetically coherent framework that bridges classical wisdom with contemporary yoga practice.

Faculty Leadership

This immersion is led by Gwen Rebbeck, E-RYT 500, YACEP, Core Faculty Member of Sacred Centers Academy.

As a senior educator, Gwen brings depth of experience, clarity of instruction, and a strong emphasis on embodied learning—supporting participants in understanding the chakra system not only conceptually, but through lived practice and self-inquiry.

Through This Immersion, You Will:

  • Explore each chakra through asana, pranayama, meditation, and reflection

  • Understand the psychological and energetic themes associated with each chakra

  • Develop language and teaching skills for presenting chakra yoga clearly and responsibly

  • Engage in self-inquiry that supports authentic, embodied teaching

  • Learn within a supportive group container that values presence, curiosity, and integration

An Embodied Learning Experience

This training emphasizes education that begins with lived experience.

Participants are encouraged to move slowly, observe honestly, and integrate insights organically—allowing understanding to emerge from direct practice rather than intellectual memorization alone.

The result is a grounded, accessible relationship with the chakra system that supports both personal growth and skillful teaching.

The Flow of the Training

The immersion begins by establishing grounding, safety, and foundational awareness, then gradually moves upward through the chakra system—exploring themes of vitality, empowerment, relationship, expression, perception, and integration.

Daily sessions are intentionally paced to balance:

  • Guided yoga practice

  • Conceptual teaching

  • Self-reflection and inquiry

  • Group dialogue and integration

This rhythm allows participants to remain present and receptive while engaging deeply with the material.

Location

The Himalayan Institute
This immersion takes place at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, Pennsylvania—an established center for yoga, meditation, and contemplative study.

Set on a peaceful, wooded campus, the Himalayan Institute offers an environment intentionally designed to support focus, reflection, and embodied learning. The natural surroundings, quiet spaces, and dedicated practice rooms create a container that encourages participants to step away from daily distractions and fully engage in the immersion.

A Supportive Learning Environment

The rhythm of life at the Himalayan Institute naturally complements immersive study. Shared meals, contemplative spaces, and time in nature support integration beyond the classroom, allowing insights to settle and deepen.

This setting reinforces the training's intention: to learn not only through instruction but also through presence, simplicity, and reflection.
