NATIONAL RECOVERY & YOGA MONTH

I love September. ♥  There are so many reasons for this but I will focus on the fact that we celebrate two loved parts of my life.  Recovery and Yoga.  

 

National Recovery Month is to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use issues and celebrate the people who recover.  Reducing stigma and educating the public on these issues is important.  I have been in recovery for many years and am surrounded by people in the addictions field and in recovery.  I sometimes forget how many people know very little about addiction and recovery.

 

National Yoga Month is a national observance designated by the Department of Health & Human Services, designed to educate about the health benefits of yoga and to inspire a healthy lifestyle. More and more people are flocking to the studios these days but there are still so many who don't really know how yoga works and what it can do for you.  Everyone needs yoga as far as I am concerned! :)  There is a style to fit every need, you have to find the right one for you.

 

So get involved this month.  Live in the solution, be an example to others.  Stay clean, stay sober, and yoga on!
